Every month we get a number of inquiries about OSHA and sexual harassment training/regulatory requirements. So, we thought we would post a simple clarification.
In short, OSHA does not regulate “Sexual Harassment”.
The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) defines and maintains the regulatory framework and guidelines as to what constitutes “Sexual Harassment”. The current laws against sexual harassment do not extend beyond the workplace or school. A summary may be found here
Many states also have laws against sexual harassment. These laws may sometimes differ from the federal laws.
