The Forklift Workshop is a new, innovative approach to educating and training forklift operators — new and veteran — on proper forklift operation and safety procedures as required by OSHA’s 29 CFR Section 1910.178(l).

Designed to address the training needs of forklift operators with any level of experience, this easy-to-use training program helps you fulfill the classroom training requirements of OSHA 1910.178(l) and offers guidelines and tools for conducting practical and effective training.

What is “workshop-style” training?
It is a fact that interaction makes training more effective. The workshop-style training approach features activity-based critical "how-to" training for operators. In addition to the videos and the training exercises, the program features tools you can use to show operators proper operating and safety procedures... and then have them demonstrate what they’ve learned. It's a perfect opportunity to identify and address problem areas in a safe and controlled environment.

In the workshop format, your operators will watch an engaging DVD video presentation, demonstrating proper forklift operating techniques. Then, you’ll be able to reinforce their learning using hands-on practice tools, exercises and learning activities.

• (1) 30-minute closed-captioned video - Provides an instructional blend of explanation, commentary and demonstration. Presented in a dynamic, contemporary style to keep trainees engaged.
• (1) Trainer’s Guide - A complete resource that logically and clearly covers the requirements of forklift safety training and helps you develop, organize and deliver effective, memorable training sessions. Includes an introduction to the topic and OSHA training requirements, recommendations for using components and options, good training principles and ideas, and guidelines for conducting initial and refresher training. Also addresses hands-on training and evaluation, plus suggestions for using the workshop elements for maximum benefit.
• (1) Trainer Tools CD-ROM - Contains the workshop elements in electronic form, so you can download, print out, use as-is, customize with company-specific information, copy into PowerPoint® presentations or whatever your needs dictate. These elements offer vital activity-based, how-to training. They include:
  • Practice tools, problem-solving activities and knowledge-based challenges that engage trainees, to help trainees absorb and retain the material.
  • Training exercises and learning activities, for both the classroom and the actual work environment. They range from easy to moderate to challenging so you can mix and match, depending on the type or level of training you want to provide.
